BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The U.S. Forest Service reports that 15 new fire starts have been detected in the past 24 hours in Idaho, with more expected. Strong winds and thunderstorms across eastern Oregon and western Idaho Wednesday further complicated matters for fire managers as resources are already stretched thin. The National Weather Service in Boise reports 2,800 lightning strikes came from the storms on Wednesday, leading Forest Service personnel to believe more fires could soon be detected.

TROY, Idaho — The Latah County Sheriff's Office said Level 3 Evacuations (GO NOW) have been issued for a active fire burning in Troy, Idaho. According to the sheriff's office, deputies are evacuating anyone who lives southeast of 1295 Driscoll Ridge Road because of the fire.
