Crews Battling new 1000 Acre Lightning-Caused Wildfire in Nez Perce County
JULIAETTA - Nez Perce County, about 5 miles southwest of Juliaetta, just south of the Latah County line. Incident Overview: Firefighters are battling the Gwen Fire, a new lightning-caused fire that started around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The blaze, currently burning grass and brush in steep canyon terrain, was estimated to be about 800 acres in size as of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday has now grown to 1000 acres. No containment had been achieved at that time.

Canyon County Fair gets going in Caldwell

Spokane Police respond to two drive-by shootings Tuesday night
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department said they responded to two shootings that happened within 30 minutes of each other Tuesday night. According to SPD, officers responded to several reports of gunshots near Lincoln Street and Cleveland Avenue, with callers reporting to police that shots were fired from a black vehicle that fled. POCATELLO — The Pocatello Car Club is set to host its first-ever street drag racing event this weekend near Pocatello Regional Airport. Kootenai County firefighters lend a hand with Oregon wildfire
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — On Saturday night, the state of Oregon requested the state of Idaho send firefighters to help with the Durkee Fire in eastern Oregon. By 5 a.m. Sunday, volunteers from Kootenai County Fire and Rescue, Timberlake Fire Protection District and Hauser Lake Fire Protection District and Worley Fire District mobilized to lend their assistance with battling the blaze. Each North Idaho department sent two firefighters and a brush truck to fulfil the request.
