Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge has plans to expand, some Texas representatives oppose the plan
LUBBOCK, Texas — After 15 years in the works, the Land Protection Plan was approved in June 2023. The intent of the plan is to give the Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge the ability to allow willing sellers to donate or sell their land to the refuge for conservation efforts.
Cooler temps, slight rain chances return this weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Another day of 100-degree temperatures for some communities over the region but most areas have remained in the upper 90s. Fortunately, cooler temps and slightly better rain chances will return for the weekend. I expect the afternoon highs to remain in the 90s Saturday, except along the Caprock and east where more of the 100 highs will dominate.
