DALLAS — Many Texans may be overpaying for electricity, a survey from Dallas-based online energy marketplace EnergyBot shows. The study, which surveyed 501 customers in Dallas and Houston, showed that the majority of those who signed up for plans with free night and weekend bill credits are paying more than those who signed up for traditional fixed-price plans. As part of the survey, EnergyBot gathered data from the participants, which ranged from Oncor and CenterPoint Energy customers with apartments, small homes and large homes, for a year.

The state of Texas continues to see relief at the gas pumps, with statewide gas prices averaging $3.09 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. This particular story isn't Texas related but does involve a Texas favorite, Buc-ee's. This is also a relatable thing for myself being in the radio, and marketing, industry. This story has to do with a Reddit post about a Buc-ee's billboard placed along Interstate 75 in Kentucky. North Carolina Man Pleads Guilty in Multistate Cattle Theft Scheme Causing Over $1 Million in Losses
A North Carolina man has recently entered a guilty plea to a conspiracy charge tied to an elaborate cattle theft that cost livestock markets more than $1 million. William Dalton Edwards, 25, of Mount Airy, admitted to his participation in the fraudulent scheme that spanned multiple states and several years. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of North Carolina, the thefts occurred from April 2018 to October 2022.
