The National Weather Service in Houston-Galveston has warned residents of the potential for heat index values to exceed 110°F, particularly in the afternoon hours on Friday and Saturday. LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Another day of 100-degree temperatures for some communities over the region but most areas have remained in the upper 90s. Fortunately, cooler temps and slightly better rain chances will return for the weekend. I expect the afternoon highs to remain in the 90s Saturday, except along the Caprock and east where more of the 100 highs will dominate.
