Coroner IDs Meridian man who died in house fire
The man who died in a house fire last week has been publicly identified. Norman Duncan, 84, was pronounced dead on Saturday morning following a Friday evening house fire on West Vaquero Lane in Meridian, the Ada County Coroner’s Office announced Thursday. The Meridian Fire Department responded to the fire at around 7 p.m. Friday, July 19, and Duncan died at the scene, as previously reported. Twelve units responded to the fire and it took approximately 30 minutes to extinguish. Duncan’s cause and manner of death are pending, the coroner’s office said.
Boise teenager identified as victim of head-on crash
A 17-year-old Boise girl has been identified as the victim of a fatal car crash that occurred last week near Star. Zuleyka Angulo was driving a 2011 Ford Focus that collided head-on with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado on State Highway 44 on Thursday, July 19, at 8:40 p.m. west of Star in Canyon County. The Chevrolet, driven by a 30-year-old Middleton man, was headed westbound and crossed into the oncoming lane to pass a semi-truck when it collided with the Ford. Angulo died at the scene. Her two juvenile passengers were hospitalized, as was the driver of the Chevrolet.
Bryan Kohberger seeks to move murder trial out of small community to Boise
LATAH COUNTY, Idaho - The suspect accused of killing four students at the University of Idaho is requesting his trial be moved to Boise, Idaho, for a more fair trial. Bryan Kohberger, the defendant accused of carrying out the highly-publicized 2022 mass murder in Latah County, says the area has become too saturated with media coverage asserting his guilt before the trial.
