Decatur mom convicted of killing her toddler not granted retrial
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — A Decatur woman convicted of killing her 19-month-old son in 2019 has not been granted a retrial by the Illinois Supreme Court. Jessica Logan was sentenced to 33 years in prison for murdering her 19-month-old son in October of 2019. Logan believes the actions of investigators should have constituted a retrial in Macon County.
Champaign City Council seeks federal grant for Kirby Avenue overpass improvement
CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The City of Champaign voted unanimously to apply for a federal grant to address the Kirby Avenue overpass. Following years of safety concerns, the Kirby Bridge project is seeing movement at the city and now state level. The Champaign City Council voted 9-0 to approve a resolution to apply for a federal grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

A popular Jacksonville restaurant is being forced to move according to its owners because of property damage and contamination. A new location for Taco Gringo is currently under construction in the 1100 block of West Morton Avenue, next door to the new Starbucks. It’s current location at 501 South Main has been in operation for more than 40 years, and has been a staple restaurant for Jacksonville.
