Clarkson University names Heacock as acting president

POTSDAM, N.Y. (WWTI) – Clarkson University has named an alum to the post of acting president.

The university’s board of trustees announced 1983 graduate David Heacock as the college’s acting president. This is after Marc Christensen’s resignation for personal reasons at the beginning of the month.

School officials are beginning the search for the university’s 18th president immediately.

Heacock has been on the board of trustees since 2017 and has been a longtime corporate partner with the school. He’s held top leadership positions at Texas Instruments and has done well in industry with 30 years of experience.

Heacock has also served on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations.
