(WIB) – In 2015, Adrienne Boulware was sentenced to 15 years to life in California state prison in connection to the 2011 death of a man in Sacramento. Alex Hong, the chef behind Michelin-starred Sorrel in Pac Heights, announced Tuesday that he is opening a new restaurant and bakery in the expansive Slanted Door space, with an expected opening date of early 2025. Details are scarce on the style of food and the name of the new project, but a press release teases that it will be a “large format, full-service restaurant offering a seasonal ingredient menu rooted in the bounty of the California coastline.” The restaurant will have an open kitchen, seated bar, outdoor seating, and showstopper, Bay Bridge-facing, floor-to-ceiling windows. Meanwhile, the connected bakery will focus on laminated pastries.
City of Alameda cuts ties with management company over financial misbehavior at homeless shelter
Alameda, California – Following charges of financial misbehavior, the City of Alameda has chosen to end a $10.7 million contract with the management business running Dignity Village, a homeless shelter.
