https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3GByuP_0uOquorx00 Charlie Stone, 80, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord peacefully, on the evening of Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home in Potts Camp.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Stone will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11AM at First Baptist Church in Potts Camp with Bro. Donald Worsham and Bro. Andy Roe officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 5PM until 8PM at First Baptist Church and on Friday from 9PM until time of service. There will be a private family interment at Bethany Cemetery in Potts Camp following the service.

Mr. Stone was born October 5, 1943, in Randolph, MS, to the late Charles C. and Therrie Higgenbottom Stone. He was a graduate of Vardaman High School and retired after 26 years with the Memphis Fire Department. On May 24, 1963, Mr. Stone was married to the love of his life, Sue, and together they raised their children in a loving Christian home.

A member of First Baptist Church, Mr. Stone was active in many areas of the church as long as his health allowed. He was a deacon, Sunday-school teacher, and was on every committee possible, as a servant to his church and the Lord. His favorite past time included hunting. If it moved, he hunted it, but hogs were his favorite. Known as a family-oriented man, he will be missed by all that knew and loved him, especially those that called him “Papaw”.

Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 61 years, Sue Bryant Stone, three sons, Dudley Stone (Charol) of Olive Branch, Kirk Stone (Sharon) of Union City, TN, Shane Stone (Amanda) of Oxford, two sisters, Reda McFarland (Tommy) of Hot Springs, AR, Vickie Darnell of Oxford, two brothers, Billy Stone (Dell) of Strayhorn, MS, David Stone (Alice) of Hernando, MS, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters, Frances Turner Savoi, Jean Wilson Starks, Mildred Hamilton, Sue Coats, Virginia Murphree, Barbara Cardwell and Brenda Barnette and one brother, Kenneth Stone.

New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Stone family.
