Yuengling’s 2024 Stars and Stripes kicks off

POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An annual event put on by a beer company founded here in northeastern Pennsylvania is in full swing.

Yuengling’s 2024 Stars and Stripes Summer Celebration is happening in Pottsville.

Thousands of people filled the streets of downtown Pottsville for the celebration that is free to enter and provides plenty of excitement and entertainment.

Sunshine, beer, and food.

For some, it can’t get better than that.

It’s why people packed the center city of Pottsville for Yuengling’s Stars and Stripes Summer Celebration.

A woman who came here with her family says aside from her love of Yuengling, she showed up for the Yuengling merch and food.

“We support Yuengling with everything they do so we thought it’d be a good time to come down here with the shirts, the mugs, and the food trucks course,” says Bunny Laubenstine from Pottsville.

She’s not the only fan of the food. That’s also what brings another woman and her friend out.

“Delicious, excellent food. Excellent food, yes,” stated Barbie Merwine from Williamstown.

Her friend says it’s her first time here, and she will definitely be back because she loves anything Yuengling.

“Well, the pulled pork is delicious but the Yuengling flight, the Yuengling store, and we’re gonna walk. We actually have VIP passes,” said Tracy Sedesse from Tower City.

Another says he enjoys the community aspect.

“I just love the feel of the family right here on a beautiful day. I’ve walked through the entire facility. Lee Brice is setting up for the concert tonight. It’s gonna be beautiful,” explained Denny Hardrock from Pottsville.

Country singer Lee Brice will perform at 8:00 p.m.

A fireworks display will follow at 9:30 to cap off the day of celebration.
