    Above and beyond: Here are F.D. Roosevelt's scholar athletes for 2023-24

    The Mid-Hudson Athletic League recently honored its top senior student-athletes for each high school. Franklin D. Roosevelt High School selected Gemma Corrado and Nathan Burger.

    Gemma Corrado

    GPA: 101

    Class Rank: 2

    Varsity Sports: Cross country; indoor and outdoor track and field

    Academic Honors/Extracurricular Activities: National Honor Society; Tri-M Music Honor Society; International Thespian Society; Jazz Ensemble (Tenor Saxophone); Wind Ensemble and Marching Band (Clarinet); Ski Club Secretary; Auditorium Club (Lighting Manager); Student Government president (Freshman); Rotary Youth Leadership Award; University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award; National Merit Scholarship Program Letter of Commendation; AP Scholar

    Athletic Honors: Varsity Letters: two-time soccer, one-time crew, three-time indoor track and field, three-time outdoor track and field, one-time cross country; 10-time NYSPHAA Scholar-Athlete; two-time hurdle captain for indoor and outdoor track and field; team captain for indoor and outdoor track and field; school record holder in 4-by-55 meter hurdles; three-time Most Valuable hurdler for indoor and outdoor track and field
