Knicks refine roster by cutting bait with three top prospects & re-signing PF talent
The New York Knicks have said goodbye to Charlie Brown Jr., Dwayne Washington Jr., and DaQuan Jeffries amid a wave of recent roster moves. The Knicks’ most recent trade for Michael Bridges and their re-signing of OG Anunoby has given the team clear direction as to where they want to be headed for the 2024-25 campaign. Both moves have also stacked their depth chart at shooting guard and small forward, necessitating vacancies at other more pressing positions. Thus, the trio of young talents found themselves casualties of offseason roster upgrades this summer.
Rent board member goes after Section 8 tenants
Last month, Christina Smyth, a landlord representative on the Rent Guidelines Board, asked that a board meeting be held virtually so she wouldn’t be intimidated by tenant supporters. It turns out that Smyth does some intimidating of her own, by sometimes pursuing undeserved debt-collection cases against Section 8 tenants,...
The Yankees May Have Found Their First Baseman
After Anthony Rizzo went to the IL on June 16, first base looked even more bleak for the Yankees. Enter catcher-turned-first baseman Ben Rice. Making his Major League debut on June 18, the 25-year-old has provided much-needed stability in the Yanks’ shaky infield. Despite Rizzo’s struggles this season, another injury wasn’t what New York needed, and their list of infield options grew scarily thin.

Outrage at JFK Airport: Tow truck attempts to remove car with kids inside, raises safety concerns
I travel to 20+ countries a year sharing my firsthand knowledge of reward travel, travel credit card deals, travel tips and more. There are some airports that don’t mess around when it comes to cars parking out front. LAX used to be one of them but I don’t see as many cops or tow trucks as I used to. The same can’t be said about New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Jacob Trouba trade falls through for shocking reason
It appears Captain Jacob Trouba is sticking around with the New York Rangers for now, despite some earlier trade rumors and his wife is to blame for it. Reports indicate that the anticipated trade to the Detroit Red Wings didn't happen after Trouba submitted his 15-team no-trade list to GM Chris Drury. Interestingly, the deal that was speculated earlier, where the Rangers would retain $2.5 million of Trouba's $8 million cap hit for the next two years, wasn't actually on the table. It's important to note that Trouba didn't reject this deal; it simply wasn't offered.
Donte DiVincenzo Reacts to Isaiah Hartenstein’s Knicks Exit
Amidst the acquisition of Mikal Bridges and re-signing of OG Anunoby, the New York Knicks lost Isaiah Hartenstein in free agency. He’s joining the Oklahoma City Thunder on a three-year deal. But shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo is optimistic about the Knicks’ chances next season. He told Stefan Bondy as...
5-Star Hudson Valley Diner For Sale After 40 Years
One of New York's coziest hometown diners has gone on the market after four decades in the Hudson Valley. There's nothing quite like the neighborhood diner. Here in the Hudson Valley, we're blessed with many independently-owned eateries that serve up a hearty breakfast, killer sandwiches and homemade pastries. Sadly, some of these diners have recently closed up shop due to healthier eating trends and the convenience of quick-service breakfasts from Dunkin' and Starbucks.

Fecal bacteria, or enterococci, is common in the excrement and intestines of animals, and was found in high levels in water samples collected at each of the five beaches on July 1. The bacteria is used as an indicator species to signify the likelihood that other illness-causing microbes, viruses or parasites...

Outdated Law Under Fire: Push to End Subminimum Wage In New York
As unfathomable and infuriating as this is, are you aware that there is an actual law that allows individuals with disabilities to be underpaid by their employers?. So many companies claim to be against discrimination in the workplace but speaking against it and putting action where words are are two very different things.
