Pike travel nurse indicted in federal crackdown on health care fraud
BECKLEY, W.Va. — A Pike County travel nurse who has been under investigation for the past two years has now been indicted on federal drug charges. Jacqueline Brewster, 54, of Belfry, has been charged in U.S. District Court in Beckley, W.Va., with obtaining controlled substances by fraud, tampering with consumer products, and wrongfully obtaining individually identifiable health information under false pretenses.
‘Operation Dry Water’ to crack down on boating under the influence this 4th of July weekend
So far this year the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has responded to dozens of incidents involving drinking and boating. Dozens of them resulted in serious injuries and nearly ten were fatal. Now, with a big holiday weekend out on the water approaching, officials are dedicating manpower in an effort to stop people who boat under the influence. It's called Operation Dry Water.
