Teton Gravity Research Drops Trailer for ‘Beyond The Fantasy’

“We’ve traveled the world for 29 years pursuing groundbreaking action and cinematography. Over the years, we have collected countless stories and experienced extraordinary moments,” said Todd Jones, co-founder of TGR. “This year’s annual film taps into these mind-bending fantasies—be it an all time Alaskan winter, or scoring A+ Jackson Hole at its finest; this season was a Fantasy to behold.”

As per usual, Beyond The Fantasy ’s athlete roster is stacked. Here’s the rundown: Kai Jones, Ian McIntosh, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Griffin Post, Nick McNutt, Tim Durtschi, Jim Ryan, Nikolai Schirmer, Janelle Yip, Yuki Kadono, Colter Hinchliffe, Parkin Costain, Maggie Voisin, Alex Armstrong, Simon Hillis, Cam Fitzpatrick, McRae Williams, Simon Hillis, and more.

Jones suffered a dramatic season-ending injury in 2023, so Beyond The Fantasy presented a much-needed opportunity to prove that he could still tackle imposing terrain. From the sound of it, Jones passed that test with flying colors.

“I had a life-changing experience, and it was really important to me this year to get back out there and test myself. There really isn’t anywhere else I could have gone that was more epic than Spine Cell in Girdwood, AK, with my childhood idols Sage and Ian Mac,” Jones said. “That was my first film trip since my injury, straight to the big stuff, I mean talk about beyond the fantasy.”

For Olympian Maggie Voisin , her Beyond The Fantasy appearance checked a childhood bucket list item.

“This year I was able to shred around legendary Jackson Hole filming with TGR. Having grown up watching TGR Jackson segments my whole life, this was a realization of my childhood dreams,” she said.

This past winter, the stacked crew ticked off multiple destinations in their pursuit of fresh snow and big lines, including Austria, Norway, British Columbia, Alaska, and TGR’s backyard, Jackson Hole.

The film’s world premiere will take place in Teton Village, Wyoming, on Saturday, September 14th, with all proceeds benefiting Coombs Outdoors . Afterward, it'll hit the road, screening at various locations around the world. Tour stops will feature athlete poster signings, partner product giveaways, and—get this—one lucky fan will get a chance to capture their own personal edit with TGR in the winter of 2024/25, as this year’s tour grand prize is a trip for “You and Your Crew” to get filmed by TGR.

There’s more than one way to get the stoke pumping for next winter. You could obsessively wax your skis or read long-range forecasts that might come to fruition. But the annual ski movie tradition is inarguably the best—and most fun—way to connect with your local community and start really thinking about snow.
