The Best Clips (So Far) for POWDER's Ski Portillo, Chile Video Competition

POWER Magazine has partnered with 5-hour ENERGY on an incredibly exciting competition this summer. We're asking folks to share a video of their best offseason adventure for a chance to win a trip to Ski Portillo, Chile !

You can read the competition page for the full details on how to submit your clip, but in the meantime, let's take a look at the best submissions so far. Remember, your offseason adventure can feature any sport: skiing, hiking, swimming, surfing, biking... if it keeps you sane while you wait for the snow to fall, it counts!

Tao Kreibich Water Skim

Austrian skier Tao Kreibich was the first to submit a clip for the competition, and what a gem it is! There's nothing like zipping across a pond in the late-spring/summer, on your widest pair of skis, as a crowd of bathing-suit clad peers cheers you on to kick things off. Maybe leave some steeze for the rest of us though, Tao?

Jim Ryan Skis "Questionable" August Snow in The Tetons

Skier Jim Ryan is more than comfortable with traveling to find summer snow (more on that later), but as seen in the video above, there's still plenty of the "questionable" stuff in his backyard of Jackson, Wyoming. I wouldn't call the surface particularly good , but beggars can't be choosers in August. Nice work, Jim!

Nate Yeomans Takes Full Advantage of a Summer Swell

Our friends over at SURFER Magazine were a bit confused when this clip was submitted to our competition at POWDER , but hey, it counts! Surfing is enjoyed by millions of skiers as an offseason hobby, and Nate Yeomans just proved to us that he's more than adept at sniping a barrel. I might start to question his integrity if he likes surfing more than skiing, but I'll try to keep my personal biases out of this.

Tim Durtschi Upgrades His Water Skis

Professional skier Tim Durtschi embodies our collective frustration with summer, but makes something of it. Rather than sitting around moping in between heat waves like I do, Durtschi threw on a pair of old Bent Chetler 100s, popped on his ski boots, and went for a tow around his local lake. Not a bad idea to cure those summer woes, Tim, not bad at all.
