Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing (STHS) has partnered with Kelowna, British Columbia-based Wildcat Helicopters. The strategic partnership gives STHS exclusive access to Wildcat Helicopters' state-of-the-art fleet, including their twin-engine Bell 212 and Airbus H125 helicopters.

The Airbus H125 is equipped with a powerful Safran Arriel 2D engine and has a cruise speed of 136 knots and a range of 340 nautical miles. It can carry four passengers with one pilot and one guide.

The Bell 212 is a larger helicopter capable of carrying up to 12 passengers—including one pilot and two guides—and traveling 270 nautical miles at around 100 knots. On its website, STHS writes that the Bell 212 is "well-suited for transporting larger groups to ski destinations efficiently."

In total, STHS’ tenure covers 500,000-plus acres of unspoiled wilderness, allowing skiers to access a variety of terrain by air, from alpine cols to rolling meadows.

Both helicopter types will embark on a variety of journeys with STHS.

Founded by Peter Schlunegger, a fourth-generation Swiss mountain guide, STHS has served skiers looking to snag powdery lines in British Columbia’s Selkirk and Monashee Mountains since the 1970s. But the company’s roots go deeper. Schlunegger’s great-grandfather, Karl, was one of the first guides to work out of the historic Glacier House Lodge in Rogers Pass, which winds through the Selkirk Mountains. STHS was acquired by Revelstoke Mountain Resort in 2007.

In total, STHS’ tenure covers 500,000-plus acres of unspoiled wilderness, allowing skiers to access a variety of terrain by air, from alpine cols to rolling meadows.

Wildcat Helicopters—STHS’ recently announced partner—doesn’t just operate within heli skiing. The Kelowna outfit provides multiple services, including firefighting and heavy lifting.

“This partnership with Wildcat Helicopters is a game-changer for us," said Dave Pehowich, the general manager of STHS. “Their reputation for safety and operational excellence aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing our guests with the ultimate heli-skiing experience.”

“Partnering with Selkirk Tangiers is a natural fit for us," added Mike Westie, director of operations for Wildcat Helicopters. "We share a passion for the mountains and a commitment to excellence.”

The collaboration officially launches in December of this upcoming ski season.
