The Stifel U.S. Freeski Team rosters are out, and they look as stacked as ever. Strong contenders make up the male and female rosters—here’s who you should keep your eye on this season.

    Men

    • Aaron Blunck
    • Tristan Feinberg
    • Alex Ferreira
    • Nick Goepper
    • Hunter Hess
    • Birk Irving
    • Cassidy Jarrell
    • Dylan Ladd
    • David Wise

    Women

    • Hanna Faulhaber
    • Svea Irving
    • Riley Jacobs

In the pipe, Alex Ferreira is the one to watch. Last winter, he dominated, executing a perfect season where he won seven out of seven halfpipe competitions he entered.

Nick Goepper supplies the (kind of) underdog story. After an illustrious slopestyle career, he made the jump to halfpipe last winter and proved that he had the chops to keep up with dedicated pipe skiers. This coming winter will mark his Stifel U.S. Freeski Team debut, and it's clear he’s swinging for the fences. Over the summer, Goepper revealed that he’d constructed a desert training compound he’ll use in his pursuit to qualify for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. His penchant for jeans adds to the allure.

In 2023, Svea Irving took bronze at the X Games Superpipe event and nearly re-asserted her podium position the following year. Hanna Faulhaber has her own X Games bronze and, in 2023, won the World Cup halfpipe championships at 18. She claimed sixth place at the Beijing 2022 Games.

At the first World Cup halfpipe event of the 2024-2025 season in Cardrona, Irving nearly earned a position on the podium, losing the third-place position to Canadian Rachael Karker by a few points. In the pipe circuit, Eileen Gu of China should be the dominant contender (she handily won in Cardrona with an almost seven-point lead), so Irving, Faulhaber, and pro team newcomer Riley Jacobs have their work cut out for them. Beating Gu is presumably the goal.

Slopestyle & Big Air U.S. Freeski Team

    Men

    • Mac Forehand
    • Alex Hall
    • Hunter Henderson
    • Cody LaPlante
    • Troy Podmilsak
    • Konnor Ralph
    • Colby Stevenson

    Women

    • Marin Hamill
    • Rell Harwood
    • Grace Henderson
    • Jay Riccomini (he/him)

Knowing where to start with the big air and slopestyle teams is difficult. Across the male and female squads, everyone’s a heavy hitter. Rell Harwood’s a two-time X Games medalist (she also grabbed a fourth in slopestyle this past winter) with inimitable style. She’s backed up by Marin Hamill, Grace Henderson, and Jay Riccomini, who earned his pro team slot after numerous World Cup podiums during the 2023-2024 season (Riccomini, a transgender man, has opted to forgo testosterone treatment for the time being to remain in compliance with competitive regulations, according to The AP . He competes in the women’s category).

The men’s team has an enormous amount of hardware. Alex Hall and Mac Forehand are Crystal Globe winners, and around half of the squad has won an X Games medal. Several male competitors are known for filming video parts alongside their competitive duties, a juggling act that, in 2023, produced Colby Stevenson's jaw-dropping Crescendo segment . In short, these U.S. athletes will be a threat as the competitive season gets properly underway.
