How Does Powder Mountain Plan To Stay Uncrowded?

Last week, Powder Mountain announced that it's eliminating its season pass cap policy and, instead, jacking up the price of a season pass. According to the FAQ page on Powder Mountain's website, adult season passes for the 2024/2025 season will start at $1499. The price will then increase with demand... so the earlier you buy the better. There's been some pushback from locals at the increasing price model of passes, which is seen as cost-prohibitive.

According to a recent Instagram post, Powder Mountain has some other plans to keep the resort uncrowded, too.

Caption: "We hear you loud and clear. Our 24/25 season pass announcement brought in a lot of comments, and as we roll out more answers to address your concerns in the days to come, we want to start with the number one question on everyone’s mind - how do we plan to remain uncrowded?

There are many ways to limit crowds other than restricting season pass sales. To start, we plan to -

✅️ Limit day tickets to prioritize season pass holders

✅️ Expand even more public lift-served terrain

✅️ No Epic, or Ikon Passes

Every decision we’re making is with the goal of keeping Powder special, financially stable, and open to the public for generations to come. We thank you for your feedback as we navigate these changes together.

Regardless of where you ski, it's the time of year where season passes and multi-resort passes for next year are starting to go on sale. So it's a good time to start thinking about if and where you want to buy a pass for next year.
