This time of year can start to feel weird. Mountain bikers are getting back on trails, the weather jumps from spring ski conditions to powder storm cycles and back again, ski areas start to talk about closures, and I begin to think more about what I want to ski with limited days left. But it's also the time of year where resorts announce season extensions. While not all ski areas have the ability to extend their season due to land use agreements and staffing, those that can often will, particularly if there's good snow.

Not much can compare to last year's historic winter in the Wasatch, but this winter has actually lined up to be pretty dang good. As snow continues to pile up and lines are staying relatively filled in, several resorts have already announced extensions, including Snowbasin.

Snowbasin will now be open until Sunday, April 28th. With this extension, those who purchase 2024-25 season passes, can enjoy immediate access to the mountain for a bonus month of skiing and boarding before closing day.

In addition, 2024-25 season pass holders can enjoy Snowbasin’s can’t-miss spring events including:

    • Snowbasin Sunset Social on Friday, March 29, featuring live music and stunning sunset views.
    • The 10th Annual Pond Skim is expected to take place over Closing Weekend bringing a 100-foot adrenalin rush back as guests attempt to cross the pond sporting their wildest costumes.
    • Closing Day Basin Bash on Sunday, April 28, bringing the season to the close with an 80s-themed affair featuring live music, a costume contest and food and drinks on Earl’s Patio.

Snowbasin could be the place to be for some late season skiing and apres hanging!
