I moved to Utah last February so this season marks my first full season of skiing in the Wasatch. I grew up skiing at Vermont's Mad River Glen. Coming from the east to the west and landing in Utah is a pretty big change compared to what I'm used to. The biggest difference? Probably the magnitude of snow that Utah gets.

I am consistently blown away by the amount of snow that we can get in a single storm in Utah. Two feet is not unreasonable and, in the last year, I have skied the deepest powder of my life. It has certainly been a learning curve and I'm so grateful that I've gotten to participate in some pretty awesome storm cycles and months of skiing across the Wasatch.

Case in point? Deer Valley recorded more than six feet of snow for the month of March. That's a lot of snow by most people's standards! And I can definitely confirm that skiing across the Wasatch is really good right now. Even as the weather warms and it feels more like spring in the city, there is still powder skiing to be had in the Wasatch and people are getting after it.
