Hollywood Police uncover an active meth lab
On Wednesday, June 19th, the Hollywood Police Department, with the assistance of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant on Co Rd 42. During the search, an active meth lab was uncovered. Investigators found 4.93 grams of cocaine mixed with fentanyl, 11.33 grams of meth mixed with fentanyl, marijuana, illegal possession of prescription drugs, and a large amount of drug paraphernalia.

Bevill State, Jasper Love’s receives grant funding for EV charging initiative
Bevill State Community College (BSCC) has been awarded a $2.4 million grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) to assist in the Alabama Energy Infrastructure Training Center expansion of the current HVAC Training Center in Jasper. This expansion will now include workforce training resulting in certification for the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
