Wyoming Governor Orders Wyoming State Flag to be Flown at Half Staff at Capitol in Cheyenne and Laramie County
Governor Mark Gordon has ordered the Wyoming State Flag be flown at half staff at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Laramie County from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, July 31 in honor and memory of Gus Fleischli. Mr. Fleischli represented Laramie County in the Wyoming Senate from 1953-1955 and served three terms in the Wyoming House of Representatives. He passed away July 21, 2024. Governor Gordon has issued the following statement:

BILLINGS — Former Lame Deer boys basketball star Journey Emerson, who set the state single-game scoring record to help make the Morning Stars one of the best stories in Montana sports in 2022, died Friday in a car accident on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation, his former coach Tiger Scalpcane told The Billings Gazette and 406 MT Sports on Friday night.

Billings Police report two stabbings less than an hour apart Friday evening
BILLINGS, Mont. - Billings Police Department (BPD) says they have received reports of two separate stabbings incidents that occurred less than an hour apart on Friday evening. Hadley Thompson is the 2023-24 WyoPreps Athlete of the Year for Girls Rodeo [VIDEO]
Yoder’s Hadley Thompson had quite the high school rodeo season and received the first WyoPreps Athlete of the Year award for Girls Rodeo. The honor was presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming and Wyld Gear. Thompson was the season all-around champ, won one event, and placed in the top five of four others. She also had a terrific showing at the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR).

CHEYENNE, Wyo., July 26, 2024 — Two rides in the rare 90-point range highlighted Semi Finals 1 at the 128th Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo (CFD) on Friday. Newly crowned collegiate all-around and bull riding champion Wacey Schalla of Arapaho, Oklahoma, became the first bull rider at Frontier Park this year to score above 90 points. Schalla was matched with Dakota Rodeo’s bull Sneaky Situation for the second time this month. Over the 4th of July Schalla scored 86.5 points on Sneaky Situation to tie for first place in Mandan, North Dakota.
