    Fayette County man arrested after leading deputies on chase

    FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Powellton man, George E. Legg, aged 59, is facing felony charges in Fayette County.

    According to Chief Deputy Shannon Morris, the incident occurred just before 10:00 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2024, when deputies patrolling Armstrong Creek Road spotted an individual driving a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

    Upon attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, reaching speeds of 90 mph. During the attempt to evade deputies, the driver almost collided with several motorists and struck a deputy cruiser.

    Subsequently, deputies managed to stop the vehicle and take the driver, Legg, into custody without further incidents.

    Legg is charged with the felony offense of Fleeing in a Vehicle With Reckless Indifference and has been transported to Southern Regional Jail to await further court proceedings.

    They must of known him and his vehicle.. maybe even staking out his house like they do bar parking lots… how did this make national news? Many People get chased by the police every day.
