Basically, if the item can safely be shipped in the manufacturer package, Amazon will no longer put it in a brown box and then ship it.</p><p>The idea behind the <a href="https://www.amazon-packaging.com/sellers">new program</a> is to reduce shipping costs and reduce the amount of cardbox waste that is produced.</p><p>Products like pet food, toys, and other items that are already in a box or package will no longer be packaged up to ship.
