Powhatan County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office issued a “shelter in place” advisory to residents near the 4900 block of Cartersville Road due to an armed and dangerous felon in the area.

The suspect, 36-year-old Chazz Lee Gordon, remains at large as of Friday morning but the shelter in place order has been lifted. Officials urge residents to “remain aware of their surroundings.”

"Powhatan residents in the area of 4900 Cartersville Road do not need to shelter in place but should remain aware of their surroundings," a Sheriff's Office spokesperson said in a Friday morning update.
