Colandrea named starting quarterback for Virginia Football opener against Richmond
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- The preseason competition is over, and Saturday Virginia Head Coach Tony Elliott announced that second year quarterback Anthony Colandrea will get the start against the Richmond Spiders. Colandrea was locked into a close competition with 5th year senior Tony Muskett. Coach Elliott had acknowledged there was a possibility that both quarterbacks would play during the season and indicated that the team would need both to be successful. Ultimately, it was Colandrea who put together enough of the intangibles and trackable data that the coaches were looking for in practice that caused him to get the starting nod. Sustainable shop coming to downtown Fredericksburg
Get the refillable containers ready. Fillagreen is coming to downtown Fredericksburg next month. The store, which specializes in sustainable products and bulk refills, will move into 716 Caroline St., between Duly Noted and 718 Venue. The address is the former home of Collage Market, which has moved to the spa’s location at 804 Charles St.

Celebration of life for Lawrence A. Davies Jr.
A visitation will be held in the Fredericksburg City Council Chambers (Hanover entrance) of City Hall, 715 Princess Anne Street, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, to honor the Rev. Lawrence A. Davies Jr.’s civic service. An additional visitation will be held at Fredericksburg Baptist Church, 1019 Princess Anne Street, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. which will be live-streamed to Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), 801 Sophia Street. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with a repast afterward at Shiloh Old Site.
