The Bowdoin International Music Festival (BIMF) has received a generous bequest of $3.7 million from the estate of the prominent food writer Patricia Crawford Brown. Boothbay sets Aug. 1 deadline for Butler and Country Club road work
Boothbay selectmen want the Butler and Country Club road paving project complete by Aug. 1. Contractor McGee Construction began the project last spring with an expected May 17 completion date. A week of steady rain and an unforeseen ledge problem delayed the project, but selectmen believe even with those delays, the project should have been completed by now. McGee began work earlier this spring on a sewer and water project for an affordable housing project.

Fire department’s barbecue draws dozens
A bright, sunny day provided for a successful fundraising event for Boothbay Harbor Fire Department on Saturday, July 27 at Sherman Field, Boothbay Region High School. The department held a three-hour barbecue with burgers, chicken, potato chips, cole slaw and more, and activities included a dunk tank, face painting, a bounce house, raffle, and music provided by a three-piece band.
