Local pharmacists earn 50-year Gold Certificates
Jacque Howard and Karon Baxley were recently presented with honorary Gold Certificates from the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy to commemorate their 50 years as licensed pharmacists. “Your 50 years as a pharmacist is a commendable achievement, and your profession is better because of dedicated pharmacists like you,” wrote John Clay Kirtley, executive director of the state board. Howard has worked at Power Pharmacy her entire career, starting in 1974, and still works there three days a week while Baxley spent 14 years at Nashville Drug; 23 years operating his own pharmacy, Mineral Springs Pharmacy; 11 years and three months at Walmart; and five years at Power Pharmacy with a year and a half of semi-retirement in the count.

Governor Sanders joins AEDC’s Rural Services Division to award $334K to 33 Arkansas communities
The Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Division of Rural Services awarded $344,728.69 in grants to 33 Arkansas cities and counties. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders presented the grants, alongside AEDC officials, during an award ceremony at the Governor’s Conference Room in Little Rock. Arkansas PBS to provide livestreaming for Little Rock Touchdown Club
As part of the network’s Arkansas Live coverage, Arkansas PBS has announced that it will be the livestream provider for the Little Rock Touchdown Club. This will give viewers viewers statewide a coveted front-row seat to talks by NFL Hall of Famers, veteran coaches, sports analysts and other noted figures from the world of sports. Each week August 19-November 25, Arkansas Live will provide livestreaming coverage of the Little Rock Touchdown Club.
