Durkee Fire balloons to 182 square miles, Gov. Kotek invokes Conflagration
Oregon Governor Tina Kotek has invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act for Durkee Fire in Baker County as officials say it has ballooned to 116,431 acres, or about 182 square miles, Sunday morning, with 0% containment.

The clearing of homeless camps from Portland’s streets is often and crudely described as a game of Whac-A-Mole. But another frivolous analogy comes to mind after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled cities could enforce strict camping bans: Homelessness policy on the West Coast has been written with an Etch A Sketch, which the courts shake every few years, sending cities and states back to the drawing board. Missing Central Oregon Youth Found in Southern Idaho
SPRAY — On July 13 the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of two missing juveniles from Spray, Oregon, at about 7:20 pm. It was reported the youth were on a camping trip in a forested area inside Morrow County. At the end of the camping trip, they told their parents over the phone that they would be returning home to Spray from Heppner.

Red Cross opens shelter for those displaced by the Durkee Fire
Boise, Idaho (CBS2) - The Red Cross of Idaho and East Oregon and its partners have opened an evacuation shelter in Ontario, Oregon, for those displaced by the Durkee wildfire. The Red Cross shelter is located at the Malheur County Fairgrounds. The address is 795 N.W. 9th Street. The shelter is providing a safe place for people to stay, meals, information, emotional support and access to other community resources. There is also room for livestock and RVs.
