A serious bus crash, involving the Hatton Northwood High School volleyball team, occurred in Nelson County.
One life was lost and multiple injuries were reported.
The incident happened at the intersection of Highway 32 and 34th Street Northeast while the team was en route to a match in Petersburg.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the accident at the accident site.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck, involved in the crash, died.
Fortunately, none of the bus passengers sustained life-threatening injuries.
The crash prompted a comprehensive emergency response.
Medical helicopters were dispatched, and ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals.
Several regional hospitals, including Altru Hospital, are currently treating the injured passengers.
