Kansas artist Stan Herd has put the finishing touches on a larger-than-life ‘earth portrait’ of Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz on a farm in Lawrence. The artist unveiled a portrait of Vice President Kamala Harris, now the Democratic presidential nominee, just days after Joe Biden dropped out of the race last month. The piece, entitled “The Biden Legacy,” left a space blank next to Harris for a portrait of her imminent VP pick.

5 airshow aircraft remain at McConnell after Sunday’s microburst
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - McConnell Air Force Base said five aircraft remain at McConnell Air Force Base after visiting for the 2024 Frontiers in Flight airshow. The base said each aircraft received varying degrees of damage from Sunday morning’s storm, described as a wet microburst packing wind gusts up to 54mph. It also forced McConnell to cancel the airshow.
