Preble County man gets 8-12 years for sex with young teen
An Eaton man will spend up to a dozen years in prison for sexually assaulting and sharing nude images and videos with a 13-year-old girl. Calvin Ray Keener was sentenced Thursday by Preble County Common Pleas Judge Stephen Bruns to a total of eight to 12 years in prison after he pleaded guilty June 11 to two counts each of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor plus one count of tampering with evidence.

Suspected murder-suicide under investigation in Preble County
The death of a husband and wife found Sunday morning inside their house is under investigation as a suspected murder-suicide, Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson said. Preliminary investigation found that Angela Hayslett, 56, had been shot, and Matthew Hayslett, 60, was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, the sheriff said.
