PARTS OF WHITEWATER VALLEY NOW CLASSIFIED AS BEING IN DROUGHT
(Whitewater Valley)--Some parts of the Whitewater Valley are now officially classified as being in a drought. According to a new map released over the weekend, much of Franklin County and the southeastern parts of Preble County are included in a moderate drought. The rest of the Whitewater Valley is classified as being abnormally dry, and that includes Richmond and Wayne County. Richmond has received just under four inches of rain since the first of June, and more than half of that came in one day.

EATON — Preble County will have a new county treasurer and county prosecutor following a special meeting of the Preble County Republican Central Committee next week. On Tuesday, the Preble County Republican Central Committee will hold a meeting to act on the nomination and election of a county treasurer and county prosecutor who each will finish the remaining balance of the respective terms of Treasurer Brenda White and Prosecutor Martin Votel.

New fingerprinting devices coming to local courts
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Local courts are set to receive new technology for fingerprinting. Preble County ready to celebrate July 4
PREBLE COUNTY — Several local organizations will provide Fourth of July fireworks later this week, celebrating the United States’ in style beginning this Thursday. The West Alexandria Celebration Committee is set to commence the Independence Day festivities in Preble County with its Party in the Park event on Thursday, July 4. Attendees can enjoy food trucks, craft vendors, inflatables, a car show, and more at Peace Park from 1-7 p.m. The celebrations will continue with a lighted parade at 9:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. at Twin Valley Schools.
