Work progressing on Pizza Hut building in Corning, a 'wonderful' addition to Northside
Construction crews are busy working to update and reopen the old Pizza Hut building on Corning’s northside. The East Pulteney Street site was one of 17 Pizza Hut restaurants that closed in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Other closures included locations in Elmira, Hornell and Bath. Pizza Hut returned to Elmira in November 2022 with a delivery and takeout-only location, and now, it's poised for a comeback in Steuben County.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse football has made a change in its assistant offensive line coach role. Delaware State tight ends coach Dimitri Hill will replace Dwayne Scott, according to a report by ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Saturday night. Thamel cited anonymous sources in his report and said only that Scott was “no longer employed at Syracuse.”

Two men injured in shooting at Kirk Park
Syracuse, N.Y. — Two men were shot at Kirk Park Sunday, police said. Officers arrived at the park around 2:30 p.m. and were told that vehicles were leaving the scene, said Kieran Coffey, a police spokesperson. Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse officials are trying to bring housing to the site of a once-iconic South Side Syracuse restaurant. Mayor Ben Walsh’s administration plans to seek proposals for redevelopment of the former Cafe Garzone at 2426 South Ave. The family-owned restaurant operated there from 1921 through 2010. The city seized it in 2014 due to more than $76,000 in back taxes and late fees that hadn’t been paid since 2006.
