Elcho Hornets win girls fast pitch league
TOMAHAWK — Elcho Hornets won the 12U A Northwoods girls fast pitch league in a nail biting rain-soaked championship game in Tomahawk roughly two weeks ago. They fought hard through a season of wins, ties, one loss and injury, but persevered to build a successful team and an unforgettable season. Coach Heather Visser, with the help of other parents and past/current Elcho students, led this team to their first ever championship title. Coach Visser said, “The team supported each other and were very coachable.” This team thanks Pelican Lake for the use of their well cared for field and the Elcho community for its phenomenal support. They showed up in force for home games as well as traveling to the away games.
