Eleanor Jones-Sato and Bree Stalsberg have a way with words. The Wisconsin grade school students were selected as state winners in the Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom essay contest. The entries submitted by Eleanor and Bree were chosen from among 1,400 entries submitted by Wisconsin fourth and fifth grade students tasked with writing a 500-word essay with the theme, "Wisconsin Agriculture is Fruit-full!"

Wisconsin law enforcement agencies underutilize gun tracking tools, study finds
A new study finds that law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin are under-utilizing federal tools for tracking guns. Law enforcement agencies can sign up for a free online platform called e-trace, which enables the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to track the path of guns involved in suspected crimes. An e-trace request can turn up valuable information, including the firearm’s manufacturer, its importer and its first retail purchaser.

No Injuries Reported Following Wausau Trian Derailment; Cleanup Expected To Be Completed This Week
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Six train cars derailed but none of the cars featured any hazardous materials in the derailment south of Highway 29 near Veritas Steel on Sunday. There were also no injuries reported to the two-person crew (engineer and conductor). The cars that derailed had shingles and granules in them.

The men’s 1500 free went to Aquajets Swim Team 17-year-old Jiarui Xue, who finished in 15:57.10. Xue, a Princeton recruit, has been quite a bit faster, holding a personal best of 15:38.14, which he swam at the NCSA Championships in March. Ozaukee Aquatics 14-year-old Grant Freeze had a fantastic swim for 4th in the mile, clocking a 16:13.24, which marks a new personal best by nearly 24 seconds.
