Chequamegon drama presents 'The Addams Family'

    2024-02-29

Chequamegon High School is preparing to perform the musical comedy, “The Addams Family” School Edition on March 15-16 at 7:30 p.m., and March 17 at 2 p.m. All performances will take place in the Harry D. Frokjer Auditorium at Chequamegon High School.

“The Addams Family” is based on a book by Marshall Brinkman and Rick Elice. The music and lyrics for the show are by Andrew Lippa. The characters are based on those created by Charles Addams.

“The Addams Family” School Edition is an original story comedy that embraces the wackiness found in every family. Every father’s nightmare, Wednesday Addams, is the ultimate princess of darkness, who has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father, Gomez Addams, and begs him not to tell her mother.

Gomez must do something he’s never done, keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Auditions were held in January and a very talented cast of students from grades 9-12 were selected.
