    Butternut volleyball wins at LCO

    The Butternut High School varsity and junior varsity teams both won their matches at Lac Courte Oreilles High School in Northern Lights Conference action on Sept. 16.

    The varsity team won 25-20, 25-19, and 25-13. The junior varsity girls won 25-17, lost 19-25 and won 15-8.

    Taylor Furtak and Olivia Hamann led the junior varsity team with 3 kills each. Furtak also had 4 assists. Kaylee Schloer and Virginia Augustine each had 2 ace serves.

    The varsity team was led by Kendra Pritzl and Lizzie Pritzl with 4 kills each. Gianna Nahring had 8 assists, and Kendra Pritzl had 5 ace serves.

    “It took the ladies a set to really find their rhythm tonight,” said Butternut Head Volleyball Coach Cindy Pritzl. “I’m proud that they never hung their heads and pushed through for the win.

    The varsity team conference record is now 2-0 and 8-3 over all. Butternut hosts Mellen next on Friday, Sept. 20, with a 5:45 junior varsity start and a 7 p.m. varsity time.
