Butternut girls lose close game at Ashland

The Butternut Middle School girls basketball team traveled to Ashland on Sept. 19, for a back-and-forth game where the lead changed several times.

The teams were a good matchup but the Butternut girls just couldn’t get over the hump as Ashland held on for a 31-27 win, said Butternut High School Girls Head Basketball Coach Troy Scherwinski.

The Butternut scoring was well balanced with Brooklynn Treml leading with 10 points, followed by Bailey Pritzl, 8; Natalee Lueloff, 5; and Khloe Radlinger, 4.

Butternut falls to 4-2 for the season and will travel to Lac Courte Oreilles on Monday Sept. 23.
