    Law enforcement calls for Sept. 16-22, 2024

    PARK FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT

    The Park Falls Police Department reported public calls for Sept. 16-22, 2024.

    SEPT. 16• 8:44 p.m., harassment complaint.

    • assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office

    • scam complaint.

    • investigating a battery incident that occurred at a tavern.

    SEPT. 17• 5:02 p.m., domestic disturbance complaint.

    • 11:56 p.m., a caller reported that a motorist was shining his fields and shooting from the vehicle along State Highway 182. The officer was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

    • a caller reported that a car struck a parked car with minor damage.

    • cited a man for possession of controlled substances following a traffic stop for speeding.

    SEPT. 18• 6:41 a.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a crash where airbags deployed but no occupants were at the scene.

    • 11:17 p.m., arrested a woman for possession of THC, second and subsequent offense, after responding to a suspicious situation complaint. The case was referred to the Price County Sheriff’s Office.

    • documented minor puppy dog bite with no violation.

    SEPT. 19• 2:39 p.m., responded to a residential burglar alarm and cleared the home after an unlocked door was discovered.

    • 7:47 p.m., assist Price County Sheriff’s Office.

    • reported tree stand near MMC-Park Falls was for fire department training.

    SEPT. 20• 9 a.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a call from the Butternut area by a pedestrian who said she startled a grouse that then flew into the door of a rundown cabin, causing the window to shatter. The officer identified the cabin owner and provided it to PCSO.

    • 3:36 p.m., investigating a complaint of a vehicle illegally passing a bus.

    • 9:02 p.m., arrested a man at his home on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

    • two dogs reported running along State Highway 13 and Ninth Street North were located and brought to Catkins Animal Rescue.

    SEPT. 21• responded to intruder alert that turned out to be the caller’s brother.

    • an officer found two juveniles who were sleeping in a vehicle parked at the Tuscobia Trailhead, and contacted the parents.

    SEPT. 22• 8:35 p.m., suspicious situation.

    PHILLIPS POLICE DEPARTMENT

    The Phillips Police Department public calls for Sept. 17-21, 2024.

    SEPT. 16• 9 a.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with serving a search warrant at a County Road F residence, where a man and woman were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping and violating a court order.

    • 3:10 p.m., responded to the Phillips Public School District regarding a man who was not authorized to pick up a student. The officer explained the situation to the man who complied and left the school.

    • 3:50 p.m., responded to Pick ‘n Save grocery for a report that a natural gas line was damaged by a roofing company. The officer evacuated employees from the roof until fire and utility personnel could respond and shut off the gas.

    • 6:11 p.m., investigated a report of a disorderly woman who entered a Flambeau Avenue residence without permission.

    • 8:41 p.m., responded to a South Avon Avenue resident regarding a harassment complaint following a misunderstanding.

    SEPT. 17• 12:04 a.m., an officer attempted to locate a man who was suspected of violating a domestic abuse related restraining order.

    • 9:36 a.m., arrested a woman for OWI following a traffic complaint that led to stopping a 2002 Ford Taurus on North Lake Avenue.

    • 3:17 p.m., investigating a disorderly conduct complaint.

    • 4:20 p.m., barking dog complaint on South Lake Avenue. The officer told the owner to keep the dogs quieter and verified that vaccinations and licenses were current.

    SEPT. 18• 12:10 p.m., an officer spoke about the dangers of using electronic smoking devices with the sixth-grade class of Phillips Elementary School.

    • 2:05 p.m., responded to Phillips Public School District regarding a disorderly conduct situation with a student and referred the matter to Price County Human Services.

    • 4:50 p.m., responded to a hit-and-run with damage to the side mirror of a 2024 Honda CRV.

    • 5:43 p.m., an officer will be issuing a citation for disorderly conduct-second offense after responding to a complaint of a man being disorderly at a grocery store.

    SEPT. 19• 11:53 a.m., assisted the Phillips Fire Department with a stove fire at a Fairway Drive apartment complex.

    • 3:56 p.m., issued a verbal warning for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk to the driver of a 2012 Ford F-150 following a traffic stop on North Lake Avenue.

    SEPT. 20• 11:30 a.m., responded to a complaint of unreturned property and informed the resident that it was a civil matter but spoke to the other party and arrangements were made to return the property.

    • 1:22 p.m., lost cat reported on North Minnow Lake Road. Cat was found and returned at 9:30 p.m.

    • 8:43 p.m., vehicle with loud music complaint.

    SEPT. 21• 12:10 a.m., assisted Price County Sheriff’s Office with a report of a man standing in the road near a vehicle in the ditch. Officers arrived but the man was not on scene.

    • 1:33 a.m., unsecured door at a North Lake Avenue business. Officers contacted the owner and cleared the building.

    • 10 a.m., a North Lake Avenue resident reported suspicious activity on the property.

    • 12:34 p.m., a gas station drive off complaint. The officer left a voicemail for the suspect to contact the gas station.

    • 12:23 p.m., assisted the Price County Sheriff’s Office with a report of a lost child. The child was located.
