The Prince George’s County Council has proclaimed March 20 MeatOut Day 2024 in Prince George’s County, reaching nearly one million residents with a message about good health, compassion, and a remedy to combat climate change. Prince George’s County joins Durham, N.C., and Washington, D.C., in proclaiming MeatOut Day to date.

Since 1985, MeatOut exemplifies the work of Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM) by bringing awareness to the health advantages of a plant-based diet while educating people on the environmental benefits as well as compassion toward farmed animals.

Beginning in 1985, and for nearly four decades, MeatOut has reached a global audience through educational events and plant-based food samples. The FARM Team will, once again, take to the streets of Washington, D.C., with vegan food samples and informational leaflets during the Annual Cherry Blossom Festival.

Consumers are increasingly switching to plant-based foods because of their concerns about health, the environment, and animal welfare issues. Consumer and animal protection advocates in seven hundred communities in all 50 states and 24 other countries welcome spring on March 20 with educational events promoting plant-based eating.
