BELTSVILLE, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Relief appears to be in sight for people who live at the Cherry Glen Condominiums, many of which have spent nearly a month without air conditioning .

Management said repairs will start overnight Wednesday, and full service should be restored Thursday.

“It’s hot. It’s very, very hot,” said one resident, Emma.

The central fan in her condominium works, but it does not blow cold air. The temperature in her unit has typically risen into the 90s.

“If we’re getting ready to go out and I’m putting on makeup, the makeup is running down my face as I’m stepping outside,” Emma said.

She said she often goes to fast food restaurants or public buildings that have air conditioning because she can’t work from home.

“When we open the windows, the heat from outside comes inside,” she said. “So it makes it even hotter.”

The latest air conditioning problem surfaced about a month after a similar issue at the complex.

“It’s terrible,” said Omer Segal, who has lived at the complex for about two months.

    He’s also without air conditioning.

“You’re on the couch and you and you’re, like, sweating,” Segal said.

Emma and her husband have a few fans to provide some relief, along with several cases of bottled water. They may get their air conditioning working properly again by the weekend.
