Redevelopment Commission Hears Updates on Jasper Municipal Pool Project
The Jasper Redevelopment Commission’s meeting on Tuesday morning provided new updates on the municipal pool project’s progress. A claim from Hafer Associates for approximately $9500 was approved by the Commission for services related to the construction of Jasper’s new outdoor pool. The total contract with Hafer is for $469,000 with $12,000 in reimbursable expenses. So far, just under $400,000 has been utilized. The Commission heard that Hafer anticipates needing to use the full contract amount, and has asked for addendum to be added for services provided for a land survey, so the total is expected to increase.

Local man charged with felony theft
Hopkinsville police have charged a Hopkinsville man with felony theft following investigation into a theft that occurred on Lafayette Road in June. According to the police report, investigation began when the victim reported that seven fishing poles were stolen out of the back of his truck on June 30 and the Hucks gas station on Lafayette Road. Using video surveillance footage, officers were able to identify the suspect as 48-year-old Arby Kimble.
Brewer named Enquirer All- Star Bowler Of The Year
On June 17, the Cincinnati Enquirer held its fall, winter and spring sports All-Star Awards ceremony at Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Enquirer had selected and invited the top athletes from each of the various sports from their Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana service area to attend. It is an honor for any athlete to be named as one of the Enquirer's nominees for this event. In each sport two athletes (one boy and one girl) were named as the overall All-Star of the Year based on their achievements through out the season.
