HPD locates nearly 100 pounds of marijuana in traffic stop
The Hopkinsville Police Department located nearly 100 pounds of drugs during a routine traffic stop Wednesday night. According to a news release, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Vontrae Lewis of Hopkinsville for disregarding a stop sign. Then, a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed 93 pounds of marijuana.
One Man Killed in Ohio Co. Accident
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that took the life of a man. Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 231 in the Cromwell area where a head-on crash occurred between a car and a semi-truck early Thursday morning. Gary Huxoll of Madisonville died on scene. It is unknown if the driver of the semi was injured.
