Man drowns while diving at Pennyroyal Scuba Center
HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was pronounced dead at the hospital after going missing while diving at the Pennyroyal Scuba Center in Hopkinsville. Responders were notified that the diver was missing on Sunday afternoon. After a quick response from Hopkinsville EMS and Christian County Emergency Management, crews arrived to find the man had been located and removed from the 22-acre quarry by scuba center personnel. CPR was attempted, but first responders found the diver unconscious and without a pulse.
30 youth attend HHS basketball camp
Hopkinsville High School held a basketball camp for local youngsters Saturday at Tiger Gym. Hoptown Basketball Coach Anthony Babb said 30 athletes participated in the camp that was broken into two sessions. “We had an awesome day and everyone had a great time,” Babb said. (Photo Provided)

Officials and community leaders making plans to improve Morehead’s Main Street
Officials said the city of Morehead is preparing to take big steps in making downtown more welcoming to the community and visitors. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet awarded the city of Morehead with a Creating Vibrant Communities grant, allowing city officials to partner with multiple other entities to increase downtown Morehead’s accessibility, economic draw, and beauty.
