    Princeton indoor walking

    From now until May 29, 2024. Brought to you by Age-Friendly Princeton: Creating a Community Center Without Walls. The locations are open to the public and please wear clean, dry shoes. The following are the participating locations: Beyond Sport Princeton Fitness 607 S 2nd St. Monday - Thursday from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m., Friday. 6 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.. See staff for walking pass. Princeton Evangelical Free Church 12140 317th AVE NW Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.. Enter through the drive-up office entrance. Elevator to access gym if needed. Princeton Ice Arena 511 Ice Arena Drive Mondays - Fridays 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sign in upon entry. Two paths: one with stairs, one without. Princeton Middle and High Schools Mondays - Fridays 4 - 8 p.m. Purchase $10 pass for the season through Community Education.

    Intro to the Power of Story class

    Every year around this time people make New Year’s Resolutions to make positive changes in their lives. However, a research study found that 23 percent of people abandon those resolutions by the end of the first week of January, and 43 percent quit by the end of the month (Ohio State University). There’s a three-session class titled “Intro to the Power of Story” offered through Milaca Community Education on April 23 from 6 – 7:30 p.m., and May 7, 14, and 21 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. that instructs people on how to do it.     Day trip to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater

    Join Come Travel With Me for a day out at the Chanhassen Dinner theater to see “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” on June 5. A true story of Carole King’s remarkable journey from teenage songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame music legend & hear many of her greatest hits. This all-inclusive trip costs $117 and includes coach transportation, lunch (choice of entrée/meal, warm bread w/butter, coffee, tea or milk), show, sales tax, and gratuity.     Day trip to the American Swedish Institute

    Join Come Travel With Me for a fun day out, on Thursday, April 25th. We will begin our day with touring the American Swedish Institutes stately museum featuring Swedish history exhibits, including the historic Turnblad Mansion. For lunch we will enjoy a delicious traditional Swedish smorgasbord. Our next stop is the Minneapolis Institute of Art where we will experience the floral beauty and fragrance of Art in Bloom. This annual event is a festival of fresh floral arrangements inspired by fine art. The cost of the trip is $28 and includes coach bus transportation, tour fee, and the smorgasbord lunch.     Day Trip to a MN Twins game

    Join Come Travel With Me for a fun day at the ballpark watching the MN Twins take on the New York Yankees, Thursday, May 16. The cost of the trip is $87 and includes coach bus transportation and the ticket to the game (lower level/section 121, along 3rd base, in the shade, and only a few steps).     National Day of Prayer

    On Thursday, May 2, three locations in Milaca are hosting events for the National Day of Prayer. A continental prayer breakfast will be held from 7-8:30 a.m. at the Milaca Alliance Church at 12543 Highway 23. A prayer will be held from noon-1 p.m. at the Mille Lacs County Court House flag pole at 635 Second St. SE. A concert of prayer will be held from 7-8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church at 310 Third Ave. NW.

    MHS Day of Service

    Milaca High School is preparing for its annual Day of Service to take place on May 10 (if raining, May 13). The school is currently looking for community members to sign-up to have their outdoor spring clean-up needs taken care of by students and staff at no cost. Students and staff can complete ground-level projects at residential and/or commercial sites in Milaca. Homeowners are strongly encouraged to be on-site. Project requests are due no later than May 3.
