Car maintenance tips for summer

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – The temperatures are heating up and so could the price of car maintenance. Summer is not only rough on you, but could be rough on your vehicle.

Radiator leaks, busted belts and low coolant levels are just some of the problems summer can cause on your car. Sitting in long traffic can also cause these issues to worsen. Jimmy Hatmaker, Manager of AutoZone in Princeton, said keeping up to date with routine maintenance can make a world of difference.

“This time of the year is when customers’ cars need Freon because they think that it’s not cold enough. So they come in and we help them put new freon in their systems,” said Hatmaker.

Hatmaker also recommended keeping water and an emergency kit in your car in case you break down in the heat. He said being prepared and ahead of the game means less issues in the future.
