PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Princeton man is arrested two nearly two years later after he allegedly defecated in plastic bags and threw them in the yard, along with littering other items greater than 50 pounds.
On September 20th, 2022, at around 5:00 PM, a Natural Resources Police Officer received a complaint via text message from a witness about a solid waste issue at 215 Sportsmans Drive, Princeton, Mercer County, WV. The witness reported that their neighbor had been dumping bags of solid waste out the back door of his trailer. They also mentioned that the neighbor had been defecating in plastic bags and throwing them into the yard due to a lack of running water.
The next day, on September 21st, 2022, at approximately 4:30 PM, police contacted the resident in the area. When police arrived at the residence, they found over 25 white plastic bags filled with waste and cans, bottles, mattresses, and other waste items strewn across the property.
After speaking with the resident, Donald McCall, who claimed that most of the waste was there when he moved in, police informed Mr. McCall about the state laws on the mandatory disposal of solid waste and the restriction on retaining over 100 pounds of solid waste on private property.
Mr. McCall agreed to have the trash removed within 30 days. Based on the situation, police summoned Mr. McCall for violating the mandatory disposal of solid waste and excessive littering laws, demonstrating our commitment to enforcing the law.
On March 12th, 2023, more than five months after issuing the original citation, police requested a warrant from the Magistrate Court of Mercer County due to the suspect’s failure to respond. It wasn’t until June 24, 2024, that McCall was taken into custody for the crime.
