Princeton residents are getting ready for next First Friday concert!

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — Princeton residents are looking forward to another First Friday concert coming to the city on July 5, 2024 – especially since an art walk has also been added to the event.

The First Fridays concert series, which started back when COVID restrictions were first lifting, was a way to get people to come together as a community again.

Lori McKinney, director of the RiffRaff Arts Collective, said they go all out for these events.

“It turns into a whole festival atmosphere here in the square. We have free crafts for the kids and artisan vendors and food vendors and just recently Shannon Shine of Shine Time Studios launched an art walk as part of First Fridays,” said McKinney. “So, you’ve got visual artists that are lining the streets beginning at 4P.M. So, that’s leading into the concert which is 6 to 9 P.M., so it’s just a whole evening of creativity, a great way to enjoy the Grassroots District.”

McKinney said Shannon Shine of Shine Time Studios and Lacey Vilandry of Silver Arrow Art will be among the artists painting along the streets.

John Bolt, Shayar Jarrett, and the Andrew Scotchie Band will be playing in town and on stage.

The main event takes place in the Dick Copeland Town Square on Mercer Street.
